Library Nook

Creating a reading nook in your home, even a small home, is a great way to embrace the winter months. Look for a small area in your home, it may be to the side of the fireplace, a cosy spot under the stairs, a quiet corner of a spare room which gets the morning sun. Essential elements include an oversized occasional chair and put-your-feet-up ottoman. Add to this layers of texture, a warm colour palette of soft neutrals, natural fibres in area rugs and cosy throws. Good task lighting is quickly achieved with the addition of a table or floor lamp, and if the room allows a bookcase for storing books and magazines. Featuring La-Z-Boy’s stylish Westminster chair.

Media Area

Hunkering down on a Sunday afternoon for a few family games and a movie in the winter is bliss, and creating an area for this doesn’t have to involve a separate room. Rearranging furniture for a more focused and closed layout, and adding a large area rug can help create a snug place. A floor lamp with indirect, glare free light helps create a soft, ambient aesthetic. To this add a media unit with storage for board games and a couple of beanbags for extra seating, and the space becomes multi use for the whole family. Featuring La-Z-Boy’s Alina from the Nordic collection.
