The Big Reveal – Give your Room the X-Factor!

To celebrate the launch of the NEW  La-Z-Boy Mason timber range, the team at La-Z-Boy gave two La-Z-Boy Facebook followers the opportunity to win a room upgrade in their home. Facebook followers went in the draw to win a piece of the new Mason wooden furniture range, $1,000 cash (towards accessories) and an interior design consult through

Our two lucky winners (Malien from New Zealand and Rebecca from Australia) have now received their prize packages and their ‘new look and feel’ rooms are ready to be revealed!

Malien’s Home – Malien is a Mum to a young family who often entertains at home with family and friends, however the layout of Malien’s existing lounge room was focused around a wall that featured a big bookcase and TV unit and didn’t provide the optimal layout for generating conversation. Therefore, the first step was to change the layout of Malien’s lounge. By moving her two existing sofa’s and rearranging the location of the bookcase, an intimate space perfect for conversation and sharing special times with friends and family was created. This was centred around the new Mason Coffee Table and Mason TV Unit.

In terms of the design, Malien hoped to create a contemporary and Scandinavian inspired look. Tina from Roomie helped achieve this with her clever choice of accessories, which not only matched Malien’s existing furniture and rug, but gave an overall more contemporary vibe. ‘The new La-Z-Boy table and media unit compliments and modernises the existing furntiure, and the addition of art work from Duett Design ensures a consistently modern update’ – Tina,

The end result was a fresh, sophisticated and inviting space that is ideal for a small family as well as for entertaining!

Rebecca’s Home – Rebecca and her husband had just moved into their new home and were in the process of decorating when Rebecca won the Australian ‘Give your Room the X-Factor! As Rebecca had already designed and purchased items for her new living room, an empty room adjacent provided the perfect spot to give the ‘X-Factor’. Working with Tina, it was decided that this space would form the perfect combined office and reading nook. Rebecca loves contemporary design, which worked well with the Scandinavian influences of the Mason Sideboard. Combining this with the natural fibres of the jute rug as well as the green and blue tones of the artwork, a fresh and calming space developed. Rebecca and her husband will now be able to relax and chill or be inspired and motivated in their new Office and Reading room!
